CAPA High School’s Antithesis Ensemble, directed by Greg Davis and Lenny Young, presents an evening of “non-traditional” music focusing on the theme of graphic notation. The program includes major works by composers such as Kagel and Cardew in addition to compositions by CAPA Students.

CAPA Antithesis’s Spring Concert

Take your senses on a trip! – come see CAPA’s Contemporary Music Ensemble, Antithesis, perform this Monday, May 17th @ 7:00 p.m. in CAPA’s Cabaret Theatre (where Dowe’s Theatre used to be).

The program will contain a variety of pieces, many of which are original works by CAPA students.  The program will include a variety of works, many of which are student compositions.  The works on the program are very diverse, ranging from fully-composed works to chance music to theremin improv with spoken voice.

CAPA Antithesis: “In Concert 2010”

On Monday, May 17th, Antithesis, CAPA High School’s new music ensemble, will present its annual concert.  The concert is at 7pm in CAPA’s Cabaret Theater (where Dowe’s used to be).

The program will include a variety of works, many of which are student compositions.  The works on the program are very diverse, ranging from fully-composed works to chance music to theremin improv with spoken voice.

Lukas Ligeti with CAPA Antithesis and Ben Opie

On Tuesday, March 30th, come see CAPA High School’s new music ensemble, Antithesis, perform alongside percussionist/composer Lukas Ligeti and Ben Opie (saxophonist of Opek and Thoth Trio) at Garfield Artworks, 4931 Penn Ave.  The concert begins at 7:30 pm and admission is $10, open to all ages.  Hope to see you there!
